“I’m the most qualified person to run for President,” Biden says at NATO summit By Investing.com

Investing.com– President Joe Biden on Thursday reiterated his bid to run in the 2024 presidential race, dismissing concerns over his mental health and stating that he would beat Republican frontrunner Donald Trump.

Biden said he was the “most qualified person to run for President,” speaking at a press conference at a NATO summit on Thursday. He also said that he had beaten Trump once, and would do it again.

Still, the President did mistakenly refer to Vice President Kamala Harris as “Trump”. But he also said Harris was qualified to be president, and that he would have not picked her to be vice president if that were not the case.

Questions over Biden’s ability to run were a main point of focus during the conference, amid growing calls for the President to step down from the 2024 race.

These came after a seemingly disastrous performance by Biden during a debate with Trump, which raised concerns over his mental state. Several Democrats senators and donors were seen calling for Biden’s pulling out of the race.

Biden attributed his performance during the debate to a packed schedule, and said he was paying more attention to his health amid long working hours.

Speaking on NATO and Russia, Biden reiterated his support for Ukraine and the bloc. Biden also said the U.S. was working to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
