Trump says trial was ‘rigged’ after guilty verdict By Investing.com

Former U.S. President Donald Trump denounced his trial as “rigged” and “disgraceful,” asserting that the true judgment would come from the public in the presidential election on November 5.

Trump, addressing the media after being found guilty on all counts, maintained his innocence and vowed to continue fighting, placing the blame for the verdict on the current administration.

The former president, who was convicted on all 34 counts, labeled the proceedings a “rigged, disgraceful trial” and declared himself a “very innocent” man. Trump emphasized his commitment to “fighting for our country” and “fighting for our constitution.”

He criticized the Biden administration, accusing it of attempting to harm a political rival through the trial’s outcome.

Trump’s remarks came as he left the courtroom, where he had just been dealt a unanimous guilty verdict by the jury.

He told reporters, “They know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here,” suggesting widespread public awareness of the trial’s nature. In his view, the trial’s result was influenced by political motives rather than an impartial judicial process.

Trump claimed the judge was “conflicted” and “corrupt,” reinforcing his stance that the trial was not conducted fairly.

“We’ll keep fighting. We’ll fight till the end, and we’ll win because our country’s gone to hell,” he stated, indicating his intention to persevere despite the legal setback. “This is long from over,” Trump said, signaling his resolve to continue challenging the verdict.
